There is a direct bus service from the airport to Arenales del Sol, number 1B. The 1B bus stop is at the corner of our apartment complex. The journey time from the airport is about 15 minutes. Public transport is excellent in the area anyway. Bus No. 3 runs from the center of Alicante to Arenales, Gran Alacant, Santa Pola, so you can also go around the area.

Gran Alacant - this town located on the mountain next to the Arenales del Sol - is worth visiting because of the wonderful panorama, as well as the shopping center and the Mercadona supermarket there.

Santa Pola is a lovely little town with hundreds of restaurants, attractions and shopping opportunities. It can be reached by car in about 15 minutes on the coastal panorama road. Several tours can be made from its port. There is a glass-bottom boat from which you can admire the underwater world around Tabarka island. There is a dolphin watching boat, a ferry to the island of Tabarka, and much more.
At one end of the harbor is a fish market with a restaurant where sumptuous feasts of freshly caught fish are served.
Dozens of restaurants await guests on the promenade next to the port.
There is a nice little castle in the city center.
And what attracts most locals and tourists is the large market on Saturdays, where local producers sell fresh vegetables and fruits, butchers offer hams and sausages made from local farms, and dozens of other delicacies. On the other side of the market, clothes, shoes, bags, watches, home furnishings and thousands of other items are waiting for you.
In the south of Santa Pola, a water amusement park awaits adventure lovers in the summer.

South of Santa Pola you can see a huge salt distillery where hundreds of pink flamingos are feasting. In addition, we can visit the salt museum and see the huge salt mountains.

Lovers of designer goods should drive a little further south. La Zenia Boulevard offers a pleasant pastime.

The center of Alicante can be reached by car in about 20 minutes. The castle, the port, the downtown streets, the seaside promenade all offer beautiful sights and a great experience.

Also worth a trip are the old town of Altea, the colorful houses and narrow streets of Villajoyosa, the beach of Calpe, the castle of Guadalest and much more.
